Since we've started tropical medicine module this week, I don't think a day has gone by where I don't feel itchy. I'm aware that this is all some sort of psychological bullshit response but seriously, has my mother changed the washing powder or have a (insert collective noun here) of mosquitoes taken up residence under my bed because this is getting ridiculous.
Reason's to not travel outside of the EU :
1. Malaria - it's bad, especially if you're poor. Which I am being a full time student.
2. Leishmaniasis - the skin one. At least with the other you die in some sort of peace, but with this one you're left with some gross looking mound on your face/arms/legs. It's like you got syphillis in the wrong place...
3. Worms - none in particular, they're all pretty bad, especially the one's that look like you've swallowed a bunch of regular type worms and then explode from your arse when you've taken some treatment....is there no 'respectable' way of getting rid of them rather than defecating 900 from your back passage?? Clearly no rational thinking went into that drug design....
Right, back to the sensible stuff for some studying....
